Job Description: We are seeking a motivated Product Engineering Intern to support the development and validation of embedded hardware products. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full product-engineering cycle, including PCBA design support, prototype bring-up, testing, documentation, and cross-functional integration.
You will work closely with senior hardware, firmware, mechanical, and product engineers on real automotive and embedded AI products.
Responsibilities:
- Support schematic capture, PCB layout review, component selection, and documentation using Altium or equivalent EDA tools.
- Assist with prototype assembly, board bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis under guidance from senior engineers.
- Conduct basic electrical measurements, functional tests, thermal checks, and hardware validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
- Maintain BOMs, component libraries, and supporting design documentation; research alternative components for cost, availability, and lifecycle risk.
- Support preparation of test plans, test reports, issue logs, and engineering change documentation.
- Assist in investigating HW/FW interface issues and support firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams during product integration.
- Participate in design reviews, team technical discussions, and product development process activities.
- Help organize hardware samples, test fixtures, lab equipment, and technical libraries.
Required Qualifications:
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of analog circuits, digital electronics, power supplies, sensors, and mixed-signal systems.
- Familiarity with PCB design concepts, including schematics, PCB layout, grounding, power routing, and component footprints.
- Exposure to Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar EDA tools.
- Basic hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment, soldering, prototype boards, or university hardware projects.
- Ability to read datasheets, follow technical instructions, and document work clearly.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Able to commit to a minimum internship duration as required by the company and university.
Prefered Qualifications:
- Personal, academic, or competition projects involving embedded systems, IoT, robotics, automotive electronics, or AI edge devices.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, communication protocols such as CAN, UART, I2C, SPI, or USB.
- Basic understanding of EMI/EMC, thermal design, DFM, or manufacturing constraints.
- Exposure to battery-powered products, motor control, BMS, vehicle electronics, or low-voltage power systems.
- Experience using Git, issue-tracking tools, or structured engineering documentation.
