1. Job Descriptions:

Scope of work

  • Ensuring that cars are completely watertight and protected against dust and gas intrusion.
  • Detecting leakages inside vehicle compartments, protecting the vehicle from water leakages that can damage the electronic bays, cabins and trunks.
  • Tightness (gas, dust, water)
  • Assessment of tightness especially with regard to the areas BIW, D&C and Trunk
  • Complete vehicle testing.

Test Planning & Execution

  • Design and develop test procedures for tightness and leakage validation of automotive components and systems (e.g., engines, fuel systems, HVAC, body, doors and closure, etc.).
  • Conduct laboratory and on-vehicle tests using specialized equipment such as pressure chambers, leak detectors, and flow measurement devices.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, or OEM-specific requirements) for tightness and leakage.
  • Collaborate with product design, quality assurance, and production teams to define the criteria for leak-proof components and systems.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze test data to identify failure points or potential leak paths and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Document and report test results, including failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective action proposals.
  • Provide detailed analysis and insights to cross-functional teams to drive design improvements and ensure leakage requirements are met.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify root causes of leakage issues, collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions, and ensure retesting for validation.
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies to increase efficiency and accuracy in detecting leaks.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and innovations in leakage testing methods and tools.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, and quality control) and external partners (suppliers, testing labs) to resolve leakage-related issues.
  • Participate in technical reviews and present test results to internal stakeholders and management.
  • Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies for compliance testing as required.

2. Requirements:

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field (automotive, mechanical, mechatronic…); a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in automotive tightness, sealing, or leakage testing, ideally in the automotive sector.
  • Experience in working for OEM is a plus.
  • Proficiency with testing tools and equipment such as pressure gauges, helium leak detectors, vacuum systems, flow meters, and sealing material tests.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret test results and suggest design improvements.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, SAE, etc.) and testing protocols for tightness and leakage validation.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive components such as seals, gaskets, HVAC systems, and fluid management.
  • Understanding material properties and behavior under pressure or fluid exposure.
  • Knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools for leakage analysis.

Work Conditions

  • Mainly office/laboratory environment with occasional on-site testing at production facilities or testing laboratories.
  • May require occasional travel to suppliers or testing partners.
