FUSA Engineer

Position: FUSA Engineer

Job Responsibilities: 

• Planning, coordination and support of the “functional safety” of innovative projects over the complete development cycle. 
• Responsible for communicating with customers and signing DIA. 
• Definition of safety requirements on product level with our customers. 
• Development of safety concepts including safety architecture and safety mechanisms. 
• Derivation of hardware- and software safety requirements. 
• Performing safety analyses, i.e. FMEDA, DFA, FTA. 
• Evaluation of hardware safety metrics (PMHF, SPFM, LFM). 
• Representation of functional safety towards project managers, customers and department management. 
• Management of functional safety development processes ensures that the development process complies with the ISO 26262 standard. 
• Improvement of the development flow and methodology according to the recommendations of ISO 26262. 
• Foster locally a safety culture, i.e. by conducting trainings. 

Requirements:  

• University degree (Master or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Science, Automation or a related field. Experience in the concept development of electronic systems at least 5 years.
• Knowledge and experience in development according to automotive development processes (i.e. ASPICE) 
• Profound knowledge in the standard „Road vehicles – Functional Safety“ (ISO 26262) and at least 2 years of experience in its application 
• Interest in the standard “Road vehicles – Cybersecurity engineering” (SAE/ISO 21434)  
• Positive team spirit with a sense of responsibility and quality. 
• An autonomous, effective and target-oriented way of work.
• Confident appearance and assertiveness. 
• Fluent spoken and written in English. 
• Willingness to travel.  

Preferred qualification: 

• Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland, Exida).  
• Knowledge of automotive standards beyond ISO 26262 (e.g., ASPICE, IATF 16949). Background in working with automotive customers, OEMs, or Tier-1s. 
• Experience using tools such as ISOGraph, Ansys
