Job Descriptions:

  • Develop and maintain detailed full-vehicle energy models, including powertrain, driveline, auxiliaries, HVAC, and electrical subsystems
  • Build and analyze energy flow and energy balance models to evaluate vehicle efficiency and range performance
  • Perform trade-off studies across key attributes, including energy efficiency, performance, thermal constraints, and drivability
  • Support vehicle, system, and component-level target setting based on simulation insights and data-driven analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, acting as a technical interface between design engineers, attribute teams, and program stakeholders
  • Validate and correlate simulation models with physical test data (e.g., chassis dynamometer, proving ground, and component test benches)
  • Identify efficiency improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize overall vehicle energy performance
  • Support development and integration of energy management strategies through simulation-driven approaches
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results, and present findings to engineering teams and management

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in CAE simulation, with a focus on vehicle energy systems or EV efficiency
  • Hands-on experience with AVL CRUISE / AVL CRUISE M for full-vehicle or subsystem modeling
  • Strong understanding of EV energy flows, including propulsion energy, losses (aerodynamic, rolling resistance, drivetrain), thermal loads, and conversion efficiencies
  • Solid knowledge of vehicle systems architecture, including powertrain, electric drive systems (EDS), HVAC, and thermal management
  • Familiarity with global efficiency and regulatory test cycles (e.g., NEDC, WLTP, EPA)
  • Experience with multi-domain co-simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Amesim, or GT-SUITE (preferred)
  • Understanding of model validation techniques, including correlation with physical test data and test instrumentation (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
